Cotopaxi, 600 trees with Torrecom

The challenge is great

The consequences of climate change are affecting us all, we are not indifferent to see what is happening around the world with heat waves, fires, hurricanes and droughts that have an intensity that we did not know.

This time we planted in the buffer zone of the Cotopaxi National Park, the moors that it shelters are fundamental for the provision of water, since its soils work as sponges that retain a lot of water, which is then gradually released and contributes to feed the water courses, essential for our wellbeing, by providing us with clean and quality water.

Let's be part of the solution

It was a planting led by TORRECOM, a leading provider of wireless telecommunications infrastructure in Latin America, which, along with sponsoring, called on its suppliers, the group was made up of 40 enthusiasts, including children and entire families, we also had the support of BUPA, an insurance company, which joined in financing the trees we planted.

It is always a source of inspiration for us to see that there are companies that are actors in the face of the challenges of climate change, and people willing to sacrifice a day of rest to participate in an activity in favor of nature.

We can all contribute from the place where we are and according to our possibilities, these 600 native trees and shrubs, in a few years will be transformed into a forest that, along with contributing to mitigate the impacts of climate change, will be a refuge for biodiversity.

Thank you

We thank all those who made this planting possible, TORRECOM and BUPA, the volunteers, Hacienda Los Mortiños, which has set aside part of the farm for us to restore the original habitats, and Vivero Yagual, which provided us with the native flora species that we planted.

TOGETHER WE ARE PART OF THE SOLUTION!
