Reforestation Day in Tambo Condor: A Commitment to Nature

It is our first planting after the fires that hit Quito and many other places in the country, we want to contribute, this is the first step, it was a successful day in the Tambo Condor Ecotourism Project, buffer zone of the Antisana National Park.

This event was held in conjunction with Runawana and brought together a diverse group of volunteers and nature lovers, with whom we united to contribute to the conservation of the páramo ecosystems.

300 native trees and shrubs

We planted 300 native trees and shrubs, including alder, pumamaqui, sacha capulí, romerillo, chilca de paramo and jacta, contributing to habitat restoration in this area.

This effort is part of a larger initiative that aims to plant 6,000 native trees in the area that will establish an ecological corridor between De Secas Lagoon and Yeguapamba Hill, allying with nature to protect biodiversity and mitigate the impacts of climate change.

A Day Full of Excitement and Learning

The attendees experienced unforgettable moments, full of joy and commitment to conservation.

The day was an opportunity not only to plant trees, but also to learn about the importance of Andean ecosystems and the crucial role they play in carbon sequestration and the provision of water for nearby communities.

A Sustainable Future for Tambo Condor

Tambo Condor has established itself as an ecotourism project that seeks to promote sustainable and responsible tourism in the region.

With its privileged location in a breathtaking Andean landscape, this place not only offers opportunities for bird watching and other recreational activities, but also becomes a vital space for conservation.

The collaboration between the Tambo Condor Ecotourism Project, Runawana, the Foundation, and, most importantly, the volunteers, is a clear example of how communities can come together to address environmental challenges and work towards a more sustainable future.

The day left an emotional mark on all participants, who pledged to continue working for the protection of the environment.
