Green Army: United for a Purpose

In a day that combined effort, commitment and hope, the Alugulla Creek in Pomasqui witnessed a beautiful act of ecological restoration.

The streams provide a special microclimate, retain humidity and are home to greater biodiversity than the surrounding areas, their preservation and care is a priority.

Under a slightly cloudy sky, 150 volunteers joined together to bring life back to this important ecosystem, demonstrating that when the community works together, nature is grateful.

The morning began with motivational words from representatives of the Municipality and the Foundation, who explained the importance of these days for the recovery of urban ecosystems.

The volunteers, coming from schools, colleges, civil organizations and companies such as DHL, listened attentively to the instructions on how to plant each species correctly.

"Each tree planted is a promise for the future," mentioned one of the participants as the groups spread out along the creek, carrying native trees such as capulí, aliso, cholán, yalomán, llinllín, cedar, walnut, pumamaqui and other native species that will soon take root in this land.

Drops of Life, Seeds of Hope

A light drizzle accompanied the day, as if nature wanted to participate in this act of renewal.

Far from discouraging the participants, the drops of water seemed to infuse more energy into the group, who worked with enthusiasm and joy, adults, children and youth all carrying plants and placing stakes with such care.

Their faces reflected the realization that they were participating in something important: the protection of our common home.

Community: Guardians of the Quebrada

The impeccable state of the Quebrada Alugulla is testimony to the constant work of the local community.

Every day, residents and neighbors dedicate time and effort to maintain this natural space, an example of citizen commitment to the environment.

The day ended faster than expected thanks to teamwork. At the end, a well-deserved snack awaited the volunteers, who shared experiences and smiles, satisfied for having contributed to this noble cause.

We are deeply grateful to each participant: schools, colleges, DHL, the local community, the La Delicia Zonal Administration and especially to BUPA, whose financial contribution made this day possible.

Together, we planted 270 trees and native plants, but, above all, we planted hope for a greener future.
