“In memory of the women whose lives were blinded by femicidal violence.”
That is the text that appears on the sign that marks the place where we contribute to establish this WOMEN'S FOREST, in memory of those who lost their lives as a result of femicides, a fact that as human beings and society hurts us deeply.
We had planted on 2 previous occasions, and little by little with hundreds of trees, what was a barren and desolate space is being transformed into a place full of life, the life we want for everyone, we seek that life always prevails, and that was the feeling on the symbolic day of this day when we planted a guaba, which will give us shade, shelter and fruit.
We were accompanied by Cecilia Suarez, Mexican actress who has made the fight for the eradication of femicide her personal cause, as part of her activities as UN spokesperson for the Campaign for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders, accompanying the victims, contributing to raise awareness and allowing this scourge to be, we dream, eradicated with her work.
We would like to thank those who were part of the day, the Guangüiltagua Metropolitan Park and EPMMOP who generously allowed the establishment of this forest, UN Women who has trusted the Foundation to support them, in what is our contribution, planting the trees.
TOGETHER WE ARE PART OF THE SOLUTION
