There are days that make a difference, and September 19, 2025, was one of them. In the Tambo Cóndor sector, within the Antisana Condor Observatory, the magic of reforestation came to life thanks to eleven extraordinary volunteers who decided to devote one of their days to acts of love for nature.
With the unconditional support of Tetra Pak, this day was transformed into a symphony of working hands, shared laughter, and roots finding their home in the sacred soil of the páramo.
From early in the morning, the fresh air of the páramo witnessed something beautiful: the arrival of people who had chosen to dedicate their time to healing the planet.
Eleven volunteers, each with their own story but united by a common purpose, gathered in this magical corner of Ecuador.
The alliance with Tetra Pak was not just logistical support; it was proof that when companies embrace sustainability with their hearts, the results transcend all expectations.
The energy was contagious. You could feel it in every morning greeting, in every shared tool, in every “Can I help you with that plant?”
There were no hierarchies or differences; there was only a team determined to leave the world a little better than they found it. Camaraderie flourished as naturally as the species we were about to plant.
Three hundred new inhabitants arrived to stay in Antisana that day. The polilepis, those wise trees that have known the secrets of the páramo since ancient times, were welcomed with the respect they deserve as true guardians of the highlands.
Each alder planted represented a promise of richer soils and more balanced ecosystems. The small but brave páramo chilcas stood tall as symbols of resistance and adaptation.
Planting native species is like returning lost pieces to a perfect puzzle. Each tree and shrub knows its role in this natural orchestra: they know when to bloom, how to protect themselves from the cold, how to nourish the soil, and how to provide shelter for local wildlife.
The volunteers were not just planting; they were restoring the harmony that nature designed centuries ago.
When the last tree found its place in the ground, something magical happened: physical exhaustion was transformed into renewed energy that sprang from the soul.
Dirt-stained hands became medals of honor, and every drop of sweat on the moor was an investment in the future of our planet.
The shared refreshments had a special flavor. It wasn't just food; it was the celebration of a mission accomplished, the perfect moment to exchange smiles, anecdotes, and that unique satisfaction that you only feel when you know you've done something truly important.
Conversations flowed between bites, mixing the joy of the present with dreams of seeing each of those 300 new inhabitants of the moor grow.
The tour of Antisana National Park was the perfect gift to close this unforgettable day. Walking along those trails after having actively contributed to their conservation creates a special connection with every stone, every plant, every breath of wind.
The imposing Antisana volcano rose majestically, as if giving us its silent blessing for the work we had done.
This is your invitation to be part of the next story. Because when eleven people can plant 300 trees in one day, imagine what we could achieve if there were twenty, thirty, or a hundred of us.
Each reforestation day is an opportunity to connect with nature, meet extraordinary people, and make a tangible contribution to the conservation of our ecosystems.
We are deeply grateful to the eleven brave Tetra Pak employees who came together to do their bit, to Antisana Condor Observatory, which shares our mission to care for our planet, and to the entire foundation team that makes each day possible.
Together, we will continue to sow hope in every corner of Ecuador.
