In the mountains of Chocó Andino, under the slogan “Together we paint smiles and hope,” a group of committed Belcorp employees wrote a story of hope. La Delicia, a small community in Mashpi, welcomed them with open arms, ready to work together.
The purpose of the day was to paint and renovate the facades of the houses that showed the greatest signs of deterioration. We believe that more beautiful houses on the outside motivate positive changes on the inside and in their residents.
Friday dawned differently in La Delicia. Belcorp volunteers arrived ready to transform realities, to paint smiles where before there was only neglect.
La Delicia is located in the Chocó Andino Biosphere Reserve, home to more than 700 species of birds and 100 species of mammals, as well as families who have endured time with unwavering dignity.
The day was not just about work; it was about human connection. Every brushstroke, every hammer blow, every gesture of affection toward the community's elders resonated like an echo of solidarity that transcends corporate boundaries.
The Pinta Vida project was born out of a harsh reality: more than 60% of the homes in La Delicia show the wounds of neglect.
But where others see deterioration, Pinta Vida sees a canvas for transformation.
The first stage is already lighting up homes with new lighting, protecting walls from deterioration, and building safe floors.
Each intervention restores dignity, each improvement restores hope to those who have dedicated their lives to this corner of the Chocó rainforest.
It was at this stage that the magic of Belcorp's volunteers came into play. With brushes in hand and hearts full of enthusiasm, they painted walls and, with each stroke, also painted smiles on the faces of the inhabitants.
At the end of the day, the renovated houses looked beautiful, transformed by effort and dedication. Because Pinta Vida understands that restoring a home is restoring the soul of an entire community.
In this territory where spectacled bears, olingos, and unique diversity coexist, dreams that deserve bright colors also coexist.
The gratitude towards Belcorp's volunteers transcends words. Their time, energy, and heart planted seeds of change that will blossom into murals, smiles, and opportunities.
Because when hands come together for nature and humanity, miracles happen in La Delicia.
