One of our goals as a foundation is that anyone who wants to plant a native tree anywhere in the country can do it through us.
We have projects in different places in Pichincha and Napo, now Guayaquil joins this proposal!
Planting in the highlands, the Amazon or the coast is different, so we select the appropriate species for each place and build alliances with those who are open to work with us to achieve a shared goal: to contribute our bit to achieve a better planet. Our way of doing this is by PLANTING.
The challenge was to plant 100 native trees, but this time the math helped us and we finally planted 108!
It was good teamwork. Not only did the Business IT employees join us, but also their families. For us it is always a special joy, emotion and happiness to see parents planting with their children. Children and young people are the hope for change towards a society focused on caring for our common home.
To better organize ourselves, we split into two groups, each starting at one end, to meet in the center. They did very well and deserved the final refreshment, we were tired, but happy.
We always repeat it like a mantra: PLANTING IS THE FIRST STEP, then comes maintenance and taking the necessary actions for the trees to develop, which involves replacing those that dry out, watering during the dry season and maintenance tasks so that the undergrowth does not choke them, etc.
To advance this idea, we have approached the Pro-Bosque Foundation, which protects 6078 hectares of tropical dry forest in the Bosque Protector Cerro Blanco, with whom we made this first planting a reality, we will continue in this alliance so that these trees, with our care and the action of nature, finally become a forest.
Behind every tree we plant there is an effort shared by many, and it is important to make it visible and thank them for it.
• Thanks to each volunteer and their families, who dedicated a Saturday to work and contributed their grain of sand in a very concrete way to the care of the planet.
• Thanks to the Pro-Bosque Foundation for opening their doors to work together.
• Thanks to those who cultivated each of the trees we planted in the nursery.
• Thanks to Business IT for providing the resources and motivating their employees to participate in this initiative.
• Thanks to Fabio Manzaba, park ranger of Pro-Bosque, who accompanied us on the day, contributing his experience and knowledge.
• Thanks to Alejandra, Vicky, Sebastián and Guido, who traveled from Quito to join us.
