The Tambo Condor Ecotourism Project (PETC) set out to make a different proposal in an area dominated by cattle ranching and agriculture, seeking an impact on nature conservation through ecotourism.
Working together PETC-Foundation in habitat restoration, we have planted 4418 trees in 19 days, we are transforming an area that was only pasture into what it is today, a space where nature regenerates, there are areas where we already see forest and the results can be seen, hummingbirds have increased their numbers impressively, and small mammals can also be seen.
It is important to recognize an initiative that marks the path that we believe will allow us to face the challenges of climate change and biodiversity loss.
TCAudit is part of a network of auditing companies, present in 128 countries, that dedicate one day a year to sustainability activities, such as reducing single-use plastic through the "Plastic Free July" movement.
In Ecuador, the challenge successfully met on this occasion was to plant 160 native trees in Tambo Condor, within the buffer zone of the Antisana National Park.
Additionally, after planting the group carried out an "Encounter with nature" activity, touring the Antisana National Park, white-tailed deer, llamas and condors were part of this experience, in addition to contemplating the extraordinary beauty of the Antisana moor and the volcano.
"Every tree you plant makes a difference", Jane Goodall.
We thank all those who made this planting possible, TORRECOM and BUPA, the volunteers, Hacienda Los Mortiños, which has set aside part of the farm for us to restore the original habitats, and Vivero Yagual, which provided us with the native flora species that we planted.
Thank you
