Green Renewal in the Quijos Valley: A Call to Environmental Action

Last December 21, in an act that united hearts and hands in favor of the environment, the Quijos Valley became the scene of a promising reforestation campaign. The event, held at Finca Los Nogales - Refugio del Águila Andina, in the Cuyuja parish, marked a new chapter in the history of conservation in Ecuador.

Sowing Seeds of Change

The event, entitled "Sembratón Navideña", was more than an activity; it was a manifestation of hope and commitment. With the planting of 500 native cloud forest trees, the Quijos Valley Birdwatchers, the local community of San Francisco de Borja and the Sembrando Esperanza Foundation joined forces to bring a greener future to life. This collaboration not only symbolizes a collective effort, but also highlights the importance of each individual action in the fight against climate change.

The Power of the Community

There were 40 volunteers, including enthusiastic Bird Watchers Group and community members, who dedicated their day to the land. Each tree planted now stands as a living testament to the power of community

A Renewed Area for Recreation and Life

As part of the effort, an area with fruit trees was thoroughly cleaned and transformed into a recreational area for the community. This new space not only provides a place to play and enjoy, but also strengthens the link with nature and promotes a healthy lifestyle.
