The greatest motivation to be part of Fundación Sembrando Esperanza now, is to shape and execute actions over the next 20 years to contribute to solve at least a couple of problems of our planet and country; deforestation, and the extinction of mammal and bird species above all.

The challenge is great, but the desire and the weapons are greater!

Camilo Rada has a B.Sc. in Astronomy with a Ph.D. in Glaciology from the University of British Columbia. Passionate about nature, he is an amateur entomologist and bird and plant observer. His research in glaciology is linked to climate change, focusing on subglacial processes. He is also a mountaineer with 26 first ascents, including summits in Ecuador.

Researcher for the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador - PUCE in the Specialized Studies Program within the "Civil-Military Relations" Project of the PUCE - ILDIS (Latin American Institute for Social Research) - NED (National Endowment for Democracy).

Educator with experience in logistics and customer service in the private sector. Although she has not been directly involved in conservation organizations, she values the transparency and accountability of the Ecuadorian Conservation Foundation Sembrando Esperanza, which motivates her to join the challenge.

Francisco Muñoz is a key member of the foundation, whose passion for conservation and love for nature are reflected in his work. Committed to protecting the Chocó cloud forest and its biodiversity, he uses his skills as a photographer to document and raise awareness about Ecuador's threatened ecosystems. As an active advocate for the foundation's goals, Francisco is constantly seeking innovative ways to support the foundation's mission, making him a valuable asset and a passionate voice for the preservation of Ecuador's natural heritage.

A biologist with 25 years of experience in areas ranging from biodiversity conservation to climate change, Amiro Pérez Leroux has worked extensively in Latin America and the Caribbean. Born in the Dominican Republic, he obtained his Ph.D. in the UK and after research in Belgium, he immersed himself in the world of NGOs. Residing in Quito since 2001, Amiro joined the Foundation.

Guido Rada, 8 years ago, started a mission with friends to combat biodiversity loss and climate change through reforestation. He has planted 18,000 trees in various places in Ecuador, with the support of the community and his foundation. As executive director, he ensures the integrity of each contribution to protect nature.

Creció en el oeste de Colorado y se graduó de la Universidad de Colorado Mesa con una especialización en biología y matemáticas. Llegó por primera vez a Ecuador en 2004 y se sintió inspirada por el bosque nuboso andino. Desde entonces, ha dedicado su tiempo a diversas iniciativas de conservación. Le interesa la conexión entre la comunidad y la conservación buscando un equilibrio entre nuestras vidas modernas y el cuidado del maravilloso planeta que habitamos.

Licenciado en Educación y Filosofía, y maestrante en Educación Ambiental para la Sostenibilidad, con más de 5 años de experiencia colaborando con la Fundación desde los 17 años. Combina su formación académica con una pasión profunda por la biología y ecología, especializándose en el diseño e implementación de proyectos de educación ambiental, gestión de redes sociales y coordinación de actividades de campo. Como observador aficionado de aves y conservacionista comprometido, aspira a generar un impacto significativo en la lucha contra el cambio climático y la desigualdad, conectando la reflexión filosófica con acciones concretas para la sostenibilidad ambiental.
