We commemorated Earth Day by contributing to the care of our planet, with the sponsorship of BUPA, we planted 150 native trees in the Guangüiltagua Metropolitan Park.
The species chosen were myrtles, guabas, podocarpus, capulíes, guantos, alders, pusupatos and others, which, with time and our care, will be transformed into a growing native high Andean forest.
This initiative is part of the "Huellas de Cambio" (Footprints of Change) program, promoted by BUPA, which encourages care for nature and people's health.
The challenge consisted of walking 6,000 steps a day for a month; for each employee who achieved the challenge, BUPA is planting a tree.
Habitat restoration, where reforestation is a first step, is crucial to combat climate change and protect biodiversity, over time, in this forest that is born we will see bees and butterflies, birds, small mammals, nature recovering a lifeless space.
The planting of these native trees is a good example of how, working as a team, we can protect the environment and contribute to improving people's health.
We also take this opportunity to thank the EPMMOP, the Metropolitan Park authorities and especially the brave BUPA collaborators, who with commitment and good energy planted each tree.
Join this effort to build healthier and more sustainable cities, together we can leave a better planet for future generations.
