We plant again with Sony

We planted with them in 2023, but getting an area that was grassland to become native forest takes perseverance. There are trees that did not thrive and so we came back together to replace those that dried out and extend the planting area.

We worked in the middle of a forest of acacias, an introduced species of Australian origin, with the objective of creating patches of native forest that would serve as space for our biodiversity within the park and the forest itself.

The native species chosen, such as chilca, guaba, aliso, myrtle, laurel de cera, podocarpus, tocte and others, will not only transform the landscape, but will also contribute to mitigating the impacts of climate change.

Collective effort

Throughout the day, the volunteers worked tirelessly and we were pleasantly surprised by the good energy of the group, despite the physical demands of the planting, their energy and enthusiasm never wavered.

Fortunately, the weather was favorable and there was no intense sunshine to complicate the day.

We thank each of the participants; without their help, we would not have achieved the results of each day. We also thank SONY for considering the planting as part of their social and environmental responsibility activities, as well as the authorities of EPMMOP and the Guangüiltagua Metropolitan Park for assigning us a place to plant.
